In coatings and paints, the presence of moisture causes a range of quality defects:

• ♦ Blistering / cratering: moisture evaporates from the film during drying, forming bubbles or craters
• ♦ Storage thickening / gelation: moisture reacts with active components in the coating, causing abnormal viscosity increase
• ♦ Metal-pigment gassing: in zinc-rich or aluminum-rich metal coatings, water reacts with active metals to release hydrogen, causing drum swelling or even bursting
• ♦ Loss of adhesion: substrate moisture weakens the interfacial bond between the film and the substrate

1. Moisture Removal in Polyurethane Coatings

Adding JZ-PT activated powder to polyurethane coatings reduces the system moisture content to the ppm level, significantly improving the appearance of the film — smoother surface, no bubbles, no pinholes.

   Specifically for Metal-Pigment Coatings

   In zinc-rich primers, aluminum-rich coatings and similar systems, the active metals (Zn, Al) react with water to release hydrogen:

   Zn + 2H₂O → Zn(OH)₂ + H₂↑

   Adding about 1 wt% molecular sieve activated powder reduces the system moisture to below 0.1%, fully controlling hydrogen release and ensuring storage stability and application safety.

Specifically for Floor Coatings
